I didn’t become a psychologist because of some grand plan or life-long ambition. Instead, it was a slow, steady pull—small moments that made me pause and reflect on how deeply our experiences shape who we are. These weren’t epiphanies but quiet reminders of how resilient people can be, even when life feels impossibly heavy. Those whispers eventually grew louder, nudging me to explore how we make sense of the weight we carry.

At the heart of my work is a simple belief: everyone has a story, even if it’s one they’ve never quite put into words. Some stories echo loudly—grief that lingers or memories that won’t let go—while others sit silently, waiting for the right moment to surface. My role is to create a space where those stories can unfold, where we can explore what they mean and how they might help shape a life that feels more true to you.

"We chase perfection, not because it’s attainable, but because we’re terrified of the mess that makes us human."

In this article, I reflected on the roles of emotions and expression, and what happens when their roles are misplaced.
